The Role
We are currently seeking an Associate Consultant for our Darlington Office. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and professional individual, capable of undertaking the following duties:
- Assist with forensic analysis of tender, contract and claims documentation
- Support with the preparation of claims for loss and expense
- Support with the preparation of adjudication documentation
- Assist with drafting of written reports, setting out process, conclusions and recommendations
- Experience of and ability to operate Standard Forms of Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC)
- Some knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC)
- Assist with provision of commercial consultant services to our clients
- Support and play an active role in business development
The Candidate
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Working towards or recently attained a Quantity Surveying Degree or be from a law background with a strong interest in
Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and willing to undertake further training - Aspirations to attain MRICS qualification
- An interest in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution
- Competent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Some experience of major construction and engineering projects would be beneficial
- The ability to assist with the preparation, assessment and interrogation of construction costs
- A clear and concise communicator in English (oral and written)
- The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
